We are Nevada Broadercasting, a US based subsidiary of Comcon Technologies Limited, New Delhi, India. We make video and audio distribution products including some high end prompters with software to manage complex workflow of news reading.
In our quest to update our product line we looked at the evolving technologies and are highly impressed by the 3D printing. Our fascination with 3D printing is related to its imaging capabilities. Currently we can create great color figurines and busts in addition to standard 3D prints on various materials. We are also working on developing scanning booth.
The problem : Offering Printing Services Requires a Service Portal
While trying to create commercial service for our capabilities, we ran into the requirement of a service portal. While such a portal has become a minimum requirement for any business now and many software are available for general businesses, these are not suitable for 3D printing. In the absence of a right software, this requirement has become an "entry barrier" which protects established large companies from new entrants. And absence of such a software made it difficult for us to launch a service worth mentioning.
Now the portal creation is not a rocket science, but it is definitely a big task which needs a dedicated team, time and money. That's when it hit us that there are thousands of companies and individuals who have special 3D printing skills and capabilities but cannot market them due to lack of an efficient service vehicle.
One can launch its services through marketplaces, but they do not solve the problem well as they are inflexible, allow very limited custom services, upmark prices and delay processing. What the community needs is a software to launch their own service portal to truly represent their services and create their own identity and brand. Hence "3D Seller" software.
Our Plan : Break the barrier
We plan to harvest the presently underutilized and growing power of small companies and individuals who have or are joining the 3D printing revolution. They have the required 3D capabilities and capacities but loose out on business due to lack of a professional service portal.
The plan is very simple. We are developing a 3D printing services automation software (we have named it "3D Seller")
Moreover, to make things easier for consumers, we have added 3D printing marketplace to the product specifications. While, this will allow each trader to have more queries and hence utilize his capacities better, consumers will get the advantage of best price without having to hunt too much.
So in all its a win-win-win situation for all of us.
3D Seller
3D Seller is one project among many initiatives and multiple products of the company. The project has limited company resources support and we are supposed to generate part of funding from external sources or future users.
